My
name is Marco De
Simone; I’ve been
associated with
restaurants my whole
life. I began
working for my Uncle
Mario at his
restaurant called
Palummella in
Naples, Italy. I owe
much to my uncle’s
teachings. I
graduated from a
specialized hotel
high school, the
Istituto Alberghiero
Cavalcanti in
Naples. I worked
with the best
restaurants,
catering firms, and
hotels in the city.
At the age of thirty
I moved to the
United States and
worked in
restaurants in both
Florida and New
York.
This fantastic
experience enriched
my personal and
professional life. I
decided to come back
to create something
of my own in Naples.
In 2003 I opened
Marco’s in Via
Ascensione in Chiaia,
close to Villa
Pignatelli and the
Public Gardens. I
wanted to put my
experience to good
use by opening my
own restaurant. At
Marco’s guests can
choose anything from
a full meal to wine
with cheeses and
salami to desserts
paired with a fine
Pantelleria passito
wine.
I have met
extraordinary chefs
who know how to make
a meal perfect.
There are a hundred
years between my
grandmother and me.
I am the third
generation of
restaurateurs in my
family. I have
inherited my passion
for this work.
Quality is not just
an objective, but a
route to follow.
